the thing that sucks is that people love saying sleep early is good etc etc and yeah it is. I've seen some benefits before. but I think it sucks to ignore that late night is the only time with any freedom. I think it sucks to not acknowledge the dread in waking up and it's a work day again

its so fucked up how difficult it is to move to another country you shouldn’t need a reason or anything you should be able to show up at the border and be like “the vibes were off back home” and they should let you in
this is one of the things i like to use to remind people that we’re not free in the u.s..
we’re required to adhere to a very specific (and very unhealthy) lifestyle that generally doesn’t pay enough to meet basic needs (much less emigration) so we have no choice but to keep repeating this vicious cycle of working ourselves to the bone just to keep ourselves alive. if we don’t adhere to this lifestyle we have a few shitty options: die, live in absolute squalor and be treated like you’re not a human or imprisonment (and be treated like you’re not a human). Our species isn’t evolved to live like this and we haven’t had to live like this for the majority of our species’ existence. I get labeled unwell/crazy for talking like this but I’d argue that the people who just unquestionably adhere to this lifestyle are the ones who are unwell. We don’t have to live this way.
the work/life imbalance this country requires is absolutely repulsive to me
